Winter has shown it's face, first snow for some.

Well we had our first snow fall, a sparkling white blanket has made everything so much more beautiful.
Hope it will stay for a white Christmas.
We are planning sleigh rides and hot apple cider for our Boxing day guests.

This is the first snow for some of our animals.

The Muscovy ducks have been very shy of the snow. They cautiously peek out the barn door, run quick to bath then back to the barn they go, quite cute.

The Highland calves don't seem to mind, I think it helped them discover a new way to play.

After going through the new Johnny's catalouge I have a list with over 100$ in annual seeds alone! Going to invest in a 1 acre cut flower garden this year, should be a big hit!

Going through seed catalogue's wondering what to order for next years garden.
Love seeing the greenhouse filled with life!
Seed Saver's Exchange my all time favorite place to buy all those delicious heirloom and rare seeds.

Heritage apples, mmmm good.
This is a Ribston Pippen "Glory of York"dating back to 1707.
The yellow flesh is very sweet, no wonder I like it, being a parent of my favorite apple Cox's Orange Pippen.
It gets it's name from Ribston Hall in Yorkshire, UK but came from a seedling or "pip" imported from Rouen in Normandy, France.
This is the tree of the Ribston Pippen, winter 2008
Not much has changed.......
