A quick video on Rare Breeds

Just a quick video on rare breeds to show the importance of conservation.
Note the Belted Galloway cattle, another hardy Scottish breed that lived on Hidden Meadow Farm for four years before we decided to strictly concentrate our efforts on the Scottish Highland.
Belties are also a phenomenal breed!

  1. that's a great mix of rare breeds all in one place - and the folks that care about them. :)

our neighbor has a few Dutch belted cattle which remind me of your Galloway - just no where near as curly! :)

Your Scottish Highland cattle are still the best looking breed I've ever seen --

  3. Such fascinating animals. I can't believe there are only 250 of that breed of horse left...talk about being on the brink of extiction. It is so good that there are people like you willing to put in the effort of keeping these rare and endangered breeds going.
